Lauren and Kays' big day started out overcast, myself at their lovely North Van home with Kays and his crew, but quickly turned into a picture-perfect bluebird day. After some quick getting ready photos (highlights: Kays opening Lauren's wedding day gift, a brand new camera, and Kays' groomsmen opening their gifts from him, which were beautiful custom silver cufflinks, hand-carved by a local native artisan with a different animal for each groomsman), it was off to Cleveland Dam for the first look and portraits.

This was definitely one of the more emotional first looks I've been a part of!! These two were both holding back tears before they even saw each other. Even Lauren's dad was wiping his eyes when he popped in! I can't blame them- Lauren was stunning in her floral mermaid gown with matching veil and old-hollywood glam, and Kays looked the perfect dapper gentleman to match! The couple read their private vows to each other under the shady canopy, and- you guessed it- more tears!

After some playful groomsman photos, we popped up to the main lawn with its epic mountain views to pop a bottle of champagne before heading down to the venue. The rooftop space was bright and airy, inside lounge and reception flowing straight into the outside patio ceremony area, dotted by classic white florals and super modern black-and-white decor. The ceremony set-up, with its perspex seating and green-and-white floral altar, let the incredible view out across Burrard Inlet to downtown Vancouver take centre stage. Talk about an aptly named venue....! The ceremony itself was a sun-drenched and emotional one, perfectly backlit by the lowering sun.

Papers signed and sealed with a kiss, the ceremony ended with a champagne toast and hugs all 'round. After family photos and mingling with their guests for cocktail hour, their reception kicked off with a grand-entrance that lead straight into their first dance. After a truly delicious dinner punctuated by speeches from family and friends, Lauren, Kays and their loved ones put the dancefloor to good use- not an empty moment to be seen!
